Radio Telstar was a pirate radio station that operated in the United Kingdom during the 1960s. It broadcast from a ship in international waters, similar to other offshore stations of the era, such as Radio Caroline and Radio London. The station catered to a young audience by playing popular music that was often neglected by the BBC at the time. Like many pirate stations, Radio Telstar faced legal and logistical challenges, and its operations were impacted by the introduction of the Marine Broadcasting Offences Act in 1967, which sought to curtail pirate radio activities.
