Red Rose Radio

Red Rose Radio was an independent local radio station that began broadcasting in Preston, Lancashire, on October 5, 1982. It originally transmitted on 301 meters medium wave (999 kHz) and 97.3 MHz FM, serving the Lancashire area. The station later split into two services in 1990: Red Rose Rock FM on FM and Red Rose Gold (later Magic 999) on AM. Red Rose Radio was known for its mix of music, local news, and community programming. It eventually became part of Bauer Media Group and underwent rebranding as Rock FM and Greatest Hits Radio.
