HCJB Kichwa

HCJB, also known as "The Voice of the Andes," is a Christian radio station that began broadcasting in Quito, Ecuador, on December 25, 1931. It was one of the first international shortwave radio stations and became known for spreading Christian programming worldwide. Operated by the World Radio Missionary Fellowship, HCJB also contributed significantly to technological advancements in radio transmission and healthcare outreach in the Andes region. Over time, it transitioned much of its focus to local FM broadcasting and supporting regional missionary efforts. HCJB's shortwave transmissions from Ecuador ceased in 2009, but its ministry continues globally under the name Reach Beyond.
