Century

Century was a network of independent local radio stations in the United Kingdom, launched in the mid-1990s by Border Radio Holdings. The stations were branded with the "Century" name and had a music and talk format, often featuring a mix of contemporary hits and phone-in shows. The original Century station, Century Radio (later Century FM), debuted in North East England in 1994. The network later expanded to other regions, including the North West and East Midlands. Ownership changed multiple times over the years, with operators like GCap Media and GMG Radio eventually rebranding or merging the stations into other networks, such as Heart or Smooth Radio, by the late 2000s.
