Radio El Tofo

Radio El Tofo was a Chilean radio station that operated in the mid-20th century, primarily serving the mining community in the Coquimbo Region. It was established in the 1930s by the Bethlehem Chile Iron Mines Company to provide entertainment and information to workers at the El Tofo iron ore mine. Broadcasting in Spanish, it featured music, news, and cultural programming relevant to the local mining population. The station ceased operations when the mine closed in the early 1970s. It is remembered as one of the pioneering local radio stations in the region.
